12 Spanish Products among the World’s Most Elite Packaging

Great results were achieved by the Spanish packaging sector at the WorldStar Awards, the most important international packaging competition, where a total of 12 Spanish products won an award. And this is not the first time they enter the top!

A total of 291 entries from 35 countries took part in this edition of the WorldStar Awards, organized by the World Packaging Organization (WPO). 195 of them won a prize in the categories of beverages, food, health and beauty, medical and pharmaceutical, household, electronics, logistics and other segments.

Among the winners: the PET bottle for Vichy Catalán mineral water; a cardboard box for champagne that can be turned into an ice bucket; a bag that extends the useful life of vegetables; and a box that can be adapted to different TV decoders.

Here we have chosen our favorite 3, the ones that really caught our attention. One of which is the 1.2 litre Vichy Catalán mineral water bottle, made from multilayer PET, with a more ergonomic and manageable design that includes an engraving of a Gaudí mosaic.

Another remarkable one, that won a WorldStar Award in the Premium packaging category, is the bottle for the limited edition gourmet olive oil ‘Legado’, designed by the Cordoba-based agency Al Margen Comunicación.

But that’s not all, the straight-edged, cardboard-lined box for CH Confidential & Pure Oil manufactured by Fabregas Packaging also won a prize in the same category.

If instead we look at the health and beauty category, we really liked the Geometric Wooden Purse Spray, an aerosol with a wooden casing developed by the Hospitalet de Llobregat firm Quadpack.

The general secretary of the Graphispack Association, Ignasi Cusí, was really impressed by the Spanish market and its winning products. “The great results that the Líderpack winners tend to achieve every year at the WorldStar Awards demonstrate the ongoing efforts made by the Spanish packaging industry to innovate and adapt to market trends and the needs of the various demand sectors,” explains Cusí.

We will definitely keep an eye on what’s coming next in the Spanish Packaging Industry and we really look forward to seeing how their products will continue to grow. We recommend you to do the same!
