This morning, when you woke up and rolled out of your bed you certainly felt that winter is coming, didn’t you? Well, Christmas is also around the corner and it is time to find wonderful ideas for your gifts to make your family and friends happy!
When choosing a present for your beloved ones, friends or colleagues, the first thing to do is to think of what he or she likes, what they would like to receive as a gift, and so on.
That means hundreds of questions to ask, ideas to think about and shops to visit before the final choice which will hopefully lead to the appreciation of our gift. Thus, for some of us, Christmas can become a real nightmare! But we have a solution for you…
Adelie & The Stone is an Armenian concept store which offers a new approach to choosing presents by composing your own gift set that consists of various items (“foundation stones”)for a special occasion or situation – from cooking to traveling, from housewarming to Christmas. The concept is simple and makes the whole story, from buying a present to its opening, a beautiful and inspiring experience. The idea is accompanied by a unique copyright on the items or the set box, reflecting the purpose of the gift, the moments that we want to make unforgettable and unique.
Adelie & The Stone found inspiration in Adelie penguin species’s love confession ritual, during which male penguins gifted a stone to the preferred female as a symbol of love and their future “home”. The idea is to treat every single present as a metaphor of that stone. Each present – be it a flower or a travel set – was meant to serve as a stone for something bigger, to become the beginning of a new story, one that makes life more beautiful, inspiring and unforgettable.
What is the core meaning of the gift? In Adelie & The Stone, the gift is supposed to be a symbol of our attitude towards the people we care about and our expression of love, respect and admiration towards them, to show them we care.
This gift store developed an all-in one flexible construction, which lets you combine various size boxes in a big one and create the set one wants. This approach gives you the opportunity to match different items, making a set of many small or a couple of big ones, mixed with tiny accessories. Everyone can become a designer, the author of a unique gift story.
In order to complete the story, a group of calligraphers help the client generate a unique name or message for the set or even for every item. The calligraphy, along with Adelie penguin illustrations, is the essential part of the brand identity. Both are meant to reflect the set’s mood and give a hint of what is inside the box.
Even if you have no packaging design skills, you just need to be motivated to make your beloved ones happy. Gifts are easy to mix and match, getting the consumer invested in the experience!
